Committees

Events Committee

The Events Committee organizes FUN and (mostly) FREE family events throughout the school year. Past events have included: Ice Cream Social, Harvest Fest, Parents Events, Ice Skating, Sea Dogs Game, Bingo Night, and more.

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Committee (TSAC)

The Teacher Appreciation Committee celebrates FES teachers and staff throughout the school year. Past initiatives have included teacher lounge makeovers, holiday gifts for all teachers and staff, and Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week in May.

Fundraising Committee

The Fundraising Committee raises funds to support the entire PTO budget. We have two major fundraisers every year: our “no-frills” fall parent/caregiver Annual Campaign Drive, and our spring Kindness Craze where kids spread acts of kindness and have tons of fun. The Fundraising Committee also raises money through community grants and sponsorships.

Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee promotes the various events and initiatives of the FES PTO. The main marketing tools are the PTO Newsletters (sent out via email 1-2x/ month), the FES PTO website, social media, posters, flyers, and other PTO promotional materials.

Abilities Awareness Committee (AAC)

The Abilities Awareness Committee helps students become more aware and inclusive of their classmates with different abilities. Past initiatives have included FES lobby displays, a Superhero Walk to benefit the Cromwell Center for Abilities Awareness, and gathering resources for the PTO Newsletter to help families learn more about disabilities.

Teaching Inclusion Diversity & Equity (TIDE)

Our compassionate committee members are here to Raise the TIDE (Teaching Inclusion Diversity & Equity) within our community.  Through social education and engagement we seek to grow an environment where all students and families feel they belong.  We support and supplement district efforts and in-school social, emotional, and cultural curricula through thoughtful extracurricular programming and education.  Past initiatives have included community education events, book and resource drives, educational displays celebrating underrepresented communities, and financial supports for students in need.

Community Connections

The FES PTO hosts several fundraisers and drives for the broader Maine community, including a winter clothing drive for Maine Needs and donation drives for the Falmouth Food Pantry.

Programs

Lost & Found

The chair monitors and coordinates the lost & found.

Class Navigators

Class Navigators are the primary liaison between the PTO, the homeroom teacher and their fellow class parents. They assist with communications and collaborations with class parents/caregivers on the teacher’s behalf.

Fleet of Families

The FES Fleet of Families is a  group of people (parents, grandparents, siblings who need volunteer hours) we can contact if we need help with small or large tasks. Requests could include: sorting papers, running an errand, or signing up to help at a school event. We send an e-mail with what we need help with... you e-mail us back if you can help. It's as easy as that!

Spirit Wear

The Spirit Wear Chair is responsible for choosing the company from which to order Spirit Wear, selecting the types of products and clothing that will be offered for sale, and working with the chosen company to ensure prompt delivery of items to FES families.
